Welcome to Kabu Akita's. We are a small kennel situated in Kent, U.K. We have held the 'Kabu' affix since 2004 however have been devoted to this breed for many years beforehand. Our first Akita 'Kabu' was purchased after years of research as a birthday present from all of my family and friends. Unfortunately tragedy struck and aged just 10 months we lost our dear Kabu to blood poisoning. Kabu inspired us so much we chose to name our kennels after him in loving memory.

It was almost a year after loosing Kabu that we felt 'ready' for another Akita, however this time I knew I wanted to start foundations for my own kennel and breeding line. In September 2004 I travelled with a friend to the successful Anshee Kennels, and whilst there fell in love with the most stunning puppy, and with a little bit of persuasion to his breeders, he came home with me. 'Anshee Last Stone In Place' became "Louie" and we haven't looked back since. Louie has filled that empty-ness left by Kabu in my heart and has given me hope and faith for the future of my kennels.

Another year passed and along came "Mai" from Satrebor Akita's. Mai is sired by a dog I have always admired 'Champion Redwitch Playboy' and along with Louie has set the foundations for Kabu Akita's. In May 2006 the first "Kabu" litter arrived from 'Mai', Sired by 'Shykiss But Wild Kiss de Champernoune' 10 beautiful healthy babies.

Here at Kabu Akita's we strive to produce good, sound well adjusted puppies of excellent type but above all superb temperaments. Our breeding plans are well thought out prior to any mating taking place, and we aim to health test all breeding stock prior to mating. We are active within the show ring with most of our Akita's and intend on adding to our 'family' with more exceptional Akita's in the coming years.
